About us

Tawny Syndicate was established in 1984 when the horse Tawny Sky was purchased by the late trainer Roy Howe for a syndicate of new owners. Jeff Shill, a chartered accountant was asked by the other owners to manage and administer the affairs of the syndicate. As time went by, many new owners called on Jeff to administer their racehorses and breeding activities. Tawny Syndicate was joined by JJ Van Der Linden on a full time basis in 1995.

Today, Tawny Syndicate employs four other full time administrators as well. The name Tawny Syndicate is actually a misnomer as the horses are owned and bred by various individuals whose common interests are horseracing and breeding thoroughbreds.
